About Carmel
Carmel Amit is an Israeli/Canadian Actor, Director and Teacher based in Vancouver, Canada.
Carmel received her formal theatre training at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NY and has since continued to train in other theatre practices and performance modalities.
She has worked with directors such as Ang Lee, Peter Farrelly, Kenny Ortega, and Jason Priestley and has appeared opposite actors like Nicolas Cage, Josh Duhamel, Nick Swardson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Micky Summer, Devon Sawa and Cybil Shepard.
Some of Carmel’s past works include recurring roles on Virgin River, You Me Her, Ghost Wars, Somewhere Between and Mistresses. She received a Leo Award for her role in the Lifetime movie, To Have and to Hold. Carmel has been featured on many major networks including Paramount, Warner Bros., USA Network, HBO, CW, ABC, SyFy, CBS, CTV, TNT, Netflix, Hallmark, & Lifetime.
In 2018 Carmel performed in Vancouver’s first immersive theatre production a la Sleep No More. Deep Into Darkness was an ambitious experience inspired by the work and life of Edgar Allen Poe.
In 2020 Carmel directed a production of Mike Bartlett’s award-winning play, COCK, in the world’s first ever post-COVID live-streamed and live-performed theatre production.
In 2022 Carmel directed and produced an original one woman show titled DOLL which she staged inside her own home, inviting the audience into a truly immersive theatrical experience.
Carmel is passionate about pushing traditional boundaries in performance styles and storytelling.
